Maallust beer brewery

For a long time, prison village Veenhuizen was a self-sufficient village with schools, churches and farms. What was once the grain mill now houses Maallust brewery. Under the old rafters and the remains of the drying machines are now their copper kettles. This is where they have been crafting their delicious beer since 2011. Brewery Maallust also has its own tasting room where you can go for a tasty drink.

Veldwachter Bockbier

De Veldwachter is a bock beer as it used to be brewed. The beer is not too sweet and has a full, powerful flavour. You taste caramel and roasted malt. De Veldwachter is a strong bock: exactly how a real bock should taste.

The Kolonist Weizen

A deliciously fresh, mildly fruity top-fermented wheat beer. A real thirst-quencher in summer temperatures. Our beer is unfiltered and not pasteurised.

Zware Jongen Tripel

Meet the Maallust Zware Jongen Tripel. It is a golden yellow high-fermentation beer. This classic tripel beer of 9% alcohol is heavily hopped and has a creamy, white head. The flavour is spicy and full of malt, with a nice hop bitterness in the finish.

De Weldoener Blond

De Weldoener is a smooth, top-fermented blonde beer inspired by the classic Belgian beer style. The taste is bittersweet and slightly hoppy. The beer has a nice, golden yellow colour and a firm, full head. The Weldoener is smooth and drinkable, unfiltered and unpasteurised. In 2022, this beer was voted the best beer in the Netherlands.
